FIFA U-17 WWC: How Many U.S. Youth Players Do You Know? Now's the Time to Meet One

This is Morgan here,
winning the "You're Awesome,
Dude" Award from Gatorade.
Folks, this is Morgan Andrews, captain of the U.S. U-17 women's national team. You're probably wondering, "Why Morgan?" Well, I'll be honest. Morgan's from New Hampshire and I'm from Massachusetts, so it's sort of a regional pride thing. Plus, she's captain. She's a 5'9" captain, and, wow--do they make kids this big nowadays? I guess so. Plus, her nickname is "Bubba." Do you see now my fascination with this kid? Bubba.

Other things you should know about Morgan in preparation of seeing her light up the pitch with the U.S. squad this coming Saturday: She's the placekicker for her high school football team, she's likely joining the Fighting Irish next year, she's won boatloads of footie awards, she skateboards, she doesn't shoot animals with her bow and arrow, and she's "beastly" on the field. Make sure you catch her growling all over the place during the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Azerbaijan. Catch her and the rest of the U.S. national team in action against France on ESPN3, when the tournament kicks off on Saturday, 22 September.
